How to Duplicate a Page in WordPress

Copying page in WordPress is quite easy and this is good if you want to create several pages with the same content. When you need to create a new section in your website or simply try out different content versions, copying the page can be beneficial. This tutorial will explain how to copy a page in WordPress so that you can ensure that you are able to do so quickly and easily.

Understanding Page Duplication

However, to fully grasp the steps, it is important to know what page duplication means. When you copy a page in WordPress, you are making a replica of the particular page, which includes the content, settings, and style. This new page can then be edited independently, meaning you can easily make changes without having to change the original.

Why Duplicate a Page?

Efficiency: It is efficient to work on the re-use of existing content rather than to create new content from scratch.

Consistency: Use to keep similar pages looking and feeling the same.

Experimentation: Experiment with different content but on different pages or on the same page but in a different section.

Backup: Save a copy of a page that you can use in case of any eventuality.

3. In the search bar, type “duplicate page”.

3. The plugin will then duplicate the page, and you will receive a message that the page has been duplicated.

4. Go to Pages > All Pages to see the duplicated page listed. It will have a suffix like “-copy” in its title.
